Have six years experience as a plumbing contractor, plumber, or plumber's apprentice with at least two of those years as a plumbing contractor or plumber. On March 29, 2021 the Plumbing and Mechanical Systems Board convened and voted to extend the 2020 renewal period for an additional two months. It is anticipated that this will be the final extension given by the PMSB for the 2020 renewal.However, the PMSB will continue to monitor the situation and make adjustments if necessary. All licenses will still have an expiration date listed as June 30, 2020. All licenses with an expiration date of June 30, 2020 shall still be valid for practice until July 1, 2021 or the expiration of the proclamation, whichever is later.
The holder of this license may do all plumbing and piping work as so defined and only while in the employ of a contractor licensed for such work. Master plumber— A licensed master plumber will have five or more years of practical work experience and knowledge of the Minnesota State Plumbing plumbers Code. He or she will have thousands of hours experience with water distribution systems, drain, waste and vent system installation, and fixture installation. A master plumber can bid on plumbing jobs, big and small, and may also design the plumbing systems that will be installed.

The holder of this license may perform only work limited to domestic water pumps and water conditioning. All individuals that had an active approved exam application anytime during the time period of March 1, 2020 to June 30, 2020 will have until July 1, 2021 to pass the exam. One of the provisions of Governor Reynolds’ Proclamation of Disaster Emergency prevents licenses issued by the PMSB from expiring. While it appears circumstances will require further extensions of the proclamation, the proclamation may only be extended 30 days at a time. In order to prevent a situation where licenses may expire quickly after the proclamation ends, the PMSB has decided an additional six months is an appropriate extension of the 2020 renewal period at this time. The Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners is the state agency responsible for licensing plumbers in Texas and has the authority to issues licenses, endorsements, and registrations.
Before applying for an LLP license, check with the local code enforcement to make sure this license is accepted for obtaining permits for inspections. An LLP cannot advertise as a "contractor" without having a contractor's license. A license, registration, or endorsement that has been expired for more than two years.
